iCIMS Hire Expectations

What do you like best about your role at iCIMS?

Being able to work closely with teammates whose specialties differ greatly from my own has been a really great experience. I enjoy being able to rely upon others for expertise in areas like development or business analysis, and I like being relied upon to test the software so that the customer has the best experience possible.

What class, teacher, or professor was most influential in helping you meet your career goals?

I had a professor at Rutgers who really impressed upon us the importance of analyzing who exactly our actions would impact. From the customers to our management, we were encouraged to repeatedly write analyses of the areas that code changes would impact, and how exactly they would change the everyday work environment for many different groups of people. She also gave us a number of great real-world scenarios from her own experience to show us why it was such an important task.

If I were a superhero, this person at the office would be my sidekick…because…

Terry Chin. Together, we'd be "Bug Man" and "Vulnerability Boy." We'd go around to lesser-performing SaaS companies and point out their many flaws.

The best thing to get on Bagel Fridays is…

The cinnamon raisin bagel. I love to have something sweet in the morning.

If iCIMS had "bring your pet to work day," I'd bring…

My cat. She'd hide under a desk, and I wouldn't see her for the rest of the day. It would basically be a normal workday for me.

This person is my celebrity doppelganger…

Ben Savage [from Boy Meets World], when I don't have a beard.

My strangest talent is…

I can face forward and point my feet behind me.

If I could learn another language, it would be…

Python, the programming language. It's become a lot more popular in recent years for all kinds of different projects, but I just haven't had the chance to sit down and learn it.

My favorite TV show to binge-watch is…

Arrested Development—it's by far one of the most clever shows I've seen. People are still finding references and Easter eggs in old episodes.

No one appreciates this anymore…

Talking on the phone. While I love all of the new and technological ways I can communicate with others, sometimes hearing someone's voice changes the whole conversation. I can't count the number of times I've been involved in a misunderstanding because you can't read tone of voice in a text message!

Cat or Dog?

Dog. I have a cat, but I'm definitely a dog person--I want my pet to greet me when I come home, not leave a hairball for me to clean up!
